In her spare time, she is building a tool for any golfer to easily obtain their handicap – a numerical measure of a golfer’s potential ability – thus making the game more accessible and enjoyable for all.

What does diversity mean to you?

For me, diversity is about encouraging and celebrating diversity of thought.

Why do you care about diversity?

I’ve never noticed or experienced a lack of diversity until I reached my mid/late twenties. I’m not sure if that is a good thing.

Life (and work) would be very boring and unexciting if everyone acted, thought and looked the same. Diversity is not easy but the rewards for business, society and the individual can’t be overlooked.

What is your advice to a young person starting their career or entrepreneurial journey?

First, love to learn. On this startup journey, you are constantly reinventing yourself whether personally as a leader or a manager, or your product/solution. Very few people start this journey equipped in every area; be prepared to constantly challenge yourself to take on new roles.

Second, stay humble. Ego is Enemy is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Don’t let praise go to your head and don’t let criticism go to your heart.

Finally, and maybe more importantly, enjoy the journey. When you are ambitious, the peak keeps getting higher and always just out of reach. Enjoy the climb!
